1. Check your eyes every 12 months
Problem of vision if not treated will be worse and more severe. if your vision starts blurring, see a doctor. Find the problems of your eyes. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, you should check it regularly. Using glasses or contact lenses that no longer appropriate may cause trouble vision and headache or dizziness.
2. In summertime, wear glasses
UV light may cause serious damage to your eyes. Sunglasses are not just a style, they are helping us to keep our eyes healthy. In sun shiny day at summer you better wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV radiation.
3. Eat nourished food
Nutrition is not only necessary for your body. It is also good for your eyes health. Some recent studies suggest that enough vitamin and antioxidant intake may prevent or at least slow down macular degeneration and cataract progression. Fresh fruits and vegetables should be a part of your meal everyday.
4. If you read or work with computer, have a proper lighting
Lighting is really important to maintain your eyes health. Working with low lighting may cause your eyes easily tired. Too much light is not also good. The best light direction when working with computer is from the left or right side with soft light from a desk lamp. Do not forget to arrange the monitor features as comfortable as possible, not too dark and not too bright.
5. Give your eyes a chance to rest
Almost everyone feels their eyes become uncomfortable after sitting all day in front of a computer. This happens because the eyes blink less (about 25%) than usual. It makes the eyes dry. One thing you can do is closing your eyes for about 5 seconds. Another way is look at another way away from the monitor and focuses your sight to a far object. Do this as many as you can.
6. Take care of your glasses and/or contact lenses
If you wear glasses, do not forget to regularly clean the surface. Avoid scratch, especially if they made from plastic. When you do not use them, put them in a save place, so they won't be easily broken. Wearing contact lenses is probably not too bothering and more stylish, but you cannot ignore the cleanness. Every time you start wearing or take them off, wash them. You should also replace the liquid when you put them before you sleep at night. You should wear good quality lenses, they are not the same. Some are save for your eyes, some are having risk to damage your eyes. Find the best information about it.
7. Use contact lenses according suggested schedule
Some people think it is saving by wearing contact lenses more than the time length defined. This is not wise. The quality of the lenses may not be reduced, but the protein plaque may blur your vision. Another thing to consider that the longer you wear the lenses, the higher risk you will get infection.
